Unit Conversion Chart |
For aid in making your own multiplayer netmaps or solo maps for the Bushido units, this chart shows you which Myth units to place in order to get the Bushido units you want (converted in-game by activating the plug-in). This removes the need to disassemble the units plug and then sift through (removing all those tags) when building the map plug-in in Fear. It also makes your map playable without the units plugin (letting you play it using the standard Myth units as placed in Loathing). That also means the map won't crash if you forgot to turn the Bushido Units plug-in on.
For solo levels:
Myth units in the Enemy column use a unique collection reference
for the 'bad guy' team. Be sure to use this one for all enemies of
this unit type. Solo levels will require the units plug-in, and thus
will be playable only as co-op games on Bungie Net (or by disassembling
the units plug-in to your own local folder). The chosen "team colors"
for the player forces will override the collection reference permutations,
so 'dark' units could be used in player forces, but 'light' units can't
be used in the enemy forces or they won't be correctly colored as the enemy
clan. None of this applies for netmaps, where team colors always
override all collection reference permutations.

Conventions for Bushido map-making: (you don't have to follow these suggestions, but we thought they might be helpful) |
Mounted Samurai Bowmen can be a bit too unbalanced in a large force, and so should usually be used in smaller numbers than normal bowmen.
Tengu should usually be tradable, but the default number (pre-trading) should be limited to 1 or 2 with an absolute maximum (after trading) of 4 per team. Maps with very small armies probably shouldn't have more than 1 Tengu per team.
The standard-bearers are harmless units, and have no attacks. They are meant to only appear in assassin games (as the target), or be used in solo levels to help enemy armies look more like armies.
Note that there is an in-game limit of 8 tradable unit types per team. If you want to include all the bushido units in a single mesh, some of them have to be non-tradable.
Any map custom-made for Bushido should be advertised as "designed to be used with the Bushido Units Tagset by Creation (www.creationgames.com). Your unit mix was carefully selected for a good Bushido game (and might not play quite as well with standard Myth II units), and this alerts players who don't have the tagset to that fact.
SPECIAL NOTE: While you are free to make maps which require the Units tagset, editing the tagset, and extracting tags or sprites to make your "own" units are not sanctioned by Creation without the expressed permission of Cydonian (cydonian@mail.com). Elements contained within certain map plug-ins (mainly scenery) also may not be extracted for your own maps without permission from Cydonian, the Pope (pope@creationgames.com), or Clem (clem@creationgames.com). Please be courteous and ask first.
